Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 13, 2026
TapIQ Inc. ("TapIQ," "we," "us") provides digital business card products, NFC-enabled profiles, and related contact-intelligence software. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites, applications, and physical TapIQ products (together, the "Services").
Information we collect
Account information. When you create a TapIQ account: name, email address, phone number, company, and profile content you choose to publish (title, links, photo, and similar).
Contact exchange submissions. When a visitor interacts with a TapIQ member's profile — for example by using the message or exchange-contact form — we collect the information the visitor enters, such as name, phone number, email, company, and message text, and deliver it to that member.
Location at the time of connection. With the visitor's permission via their browser or device prompt, we may collect approximate location when a contact exchange happens, so both parties can remember where they met. Declining location does not prevent use of the form.
Usage and device information. Standard analytics: pages viewed, interactions with profiles, device and browser type, and IP address.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
Business contact enrichment
To help our members keep useful records of the people they meet, we may supplement contact exchange submissions with publicly and commercially available business information (such as job title, company, and business social profiles) obtained from third-party data providers. If you would like information about you corrected or deleted, contact us at the address below and we will honor the request.
Cookies and profile analytics
We use cookies and similar identifiers to operate the Services and to show members how their profiles perform. When you visit a TapIQ member's profile, we may assign a visitor identifier and record interactions with that profile — views, taps, contact saves, link clicks, and return visits. This activity is shown to the member whose profile you visited and used to improve the Services. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can limit tracking through your browser settings; profiles remain fully usable.
Third-party account integrations
If you connect third-party accounts — such as Google (Gmail, Google Calendar), Slack, HubSpot, or Salesforce — we access only the data needed to provide the features you enable, such as reading calendar availability for bookings or syncing contacts to your CRM. TapIQ's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising and do not sell it. You can disconnect any integration in settings at any time, which revokes our access.
Text messaging (SMS/MMS)
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
We send these kinds of text messages: (1) notifications to TapIQ members about activity on their own profiles; (2) where offered, a single opt-in invitation to visitors who explicitly check a consent box on a contact form; and (3) conversational messages — when you initiate a text conversation with a TapIQ member's dedicated number (for example, by tapping their TapIQ card and sending a message), we deliver that conversation and send one automated reply containing the member's contact details. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
How we use information
- To provide the Services: delivering messages and contact exchanges between visitors and members, maintaining profiles, and syncing contacts.
- To operate and improve the Services, including analytics and troubleshooting.
- To communicate with you about your account and, with consent where required, about new features.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with: (a) the TapIQ member whose profile you interacted with (that is the purpose of the product); (b) service providers who process data on our behalf — such as cloud hosting (AWS), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, text-message delivery (Twilio), data-enrichment providers, and AI processing providers — each bound by contractual confidentiality; and (c) authorities where required by law.
Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Contact exchange records are kept while the receiving member keeps them. You may request deletion at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under CCPA and GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at policy@tapiq.com. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Children
The Services are business tools, not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated to account holders by email or in-app notice.
